The Edward Hyde Show: 100 : Life in the fast lane

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

Episode 100 : Life in the fast lane

There were times when I wondered what it is that keeps me going. What is it that makes me want to live another day?

The answer did not come after many hours of relentless thinking. But in one of those moments when you ponder over something else that is important and unrelated, the long-sought answer reveals itself.

Work is fun (after a long, long time), but is not exciting yet.

So what is?

  1. Meeting someone for the first time. Or after a long time.
  2. Going on a ride. The longer, the better.

The latter occurs more frequently that the former, and these days I find myself preparing for the big road-trip this weekend.

Poring over maps to decide the route, alternative routes, stops and alternative stops.

Turning my wardrobe inside-out to get the ride apparel ready.

Calculating costs and scrounging for every rupee.

Cleaning the bike and getting it tuned so that the ride is smo-oooo-oth.

This kind of excitement is not new, but it feels nice all the same.

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

As we like to say, Caman da enjaiment!
