The Edward Hyde Show: 268 : Like father...

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

Episode 268 : Like father...

It is Papa Hyde's birthday today.

At first I thought I should call him at twelve. But he wouldn't appreciate that.

'Can't you call me in the morning?' he would have asked.

So I called him in the morning.

After he sent a message that he will courier the motorcycle's insurance papers to my office.

At 10am.

'Hello?' he said, in his usual hurried way of answering the phone.

'Happy birthday' I said.

There was a brief disturbance in the line, but I knew what he did.

He murmured something- uh hmm ok, is what it would have been.

'Then I am sending the insurance papers today. Office address is ok?' he asked.

'Office address is fine' I replied, impatience slowly building up within me.

'Where are you now? At office?'

'No, at home'

'Why haven't you gone to office yet?' he demanded.

'I'll be there by 11, I stay at least till 7pm these days'

'Right, I'll see you then'

'Ok' and we disconnected.

I looked at the phone and thought whether I should call Mama Hyde and complain how uninterested he sounded when I called him.

Then it struck me, and I grinned.

I am my father's son- I would have done the same.
