The Edward Hyde Show: 73 : Turn the page

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

--Freddie Mercury, These are the days of our lives.

Episode 73 : Turn the page

It has been a long year and nine months here. And when this week ends, my tenure will end too.

When I first joined the company, I longed to be back at the old place. I wasn't adapting well to the new place; so much for my adaptation skills. It took time, six months, before I started feeling more comfortable.

By the time I made friends within my team, I had already made friends in other teams. And it felt a little strange when I realised that...

The previous place was smaller. When you have just 30 people on board, everybody knows you and you know everybody. Consequently, you get friendlier.

It was tough when I had to leave. I thought I had everything under control. Till I shook hands with my boss, ending up saying a choked goodbye. It wasn't easy to keep a straight face and stop tears from running down my cheeks.

It is time to start a new chapter. It is time to turn this page.

I have had some nice times here. But I know I will not shed a tear as I walk out of the complex for the last time.

Pinkie and The Brain? *ROTFL* You cannot be The Brain, so you must be Pinkie. *NARF!*

And yes, I shed some tears that night. It was involuntary.

I hope so. Like my ex-boss used to say, the only way to improve is to get out of your comfort zone.
