The Edward Hyde Show: 162 : To sleep, perchance to dream

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

--Freddie Mercury, These are the days of our lives.

Episode 162 : To sleep, perchance to dream

Listening to 'In dino' these days (pun intended)...

in dino dil mera
mujhse hai keh raha
tu khwaab sajaa

Strangely, it coincides with my re-acquired ability to recall dreams. For those not in the know, till recently I could recall only the weirdest of dreams.

On Monday-
Class 10; Mathematics class. The Mathematics teacher is calling out names to check our attendance- strange, because the Chemistry teacher did that. She does not call my name correctly and I correct her politely that it is Hyde and not Heidi.

She throws the attendance register at me saying if I know to pronounce names better, I should take the roll call. It was an expected reaction, but what followed next was truly unexpected. Sweetly she adds 'Besides, you have good handwriting'!

Eh?

On Tuesday-
I go to a nearby shop and return to find my room ransacked. Apparently, I had forgotten to lock the door. The robber(s) had left my torn riding jacket and pants, with protection armour, (from the fall two weeks ago). Supposedly because they were behind the door and did not bother to see what was behind it. End of dream.

In reality, I woke up to the sound of the maid knocking on the door. I push at the grill door, but it doesn't budge. My landlady had an amused look on her face.

'I locked the door from outside because you left it unlocked last night'

Weird!

On Wednesday-
I am riding a bike on a tank bund, the road being a series of sharp curves. In a bid to get rid of the fear of falling I take the curves at high speeds, leaning sharply to avoid going off the tank bund into the lake below. I take one curve close to the edge, the speed of the bike helps me to stay on course even as pebbles roll down. I am not so lucky at the next curve and the bike slides off the road.

Not a good time to have such dreams when one is still recovering from a double whammy.

Today-
I am in a huge industrial complex. Everyone is out to get me, especially one female guard who reminds me of Eva Green (Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale) except that this guard has tonsured her head. She keeps saying something about catching me soon as she climbs a metal ladder to get to the floor where I am standing. I begin running- apparently I am involved in some kind of espionage. Or maybe I am James Bond.

Fancy one, eh?

So what will I dream tomorrow?
