The Edward Hyde Show: 317 : Au Léh- Day 5

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

--Freddie Mercury, These are the days of our lives.

Episode 317 : Au Léh- Day 5

It started out innocuously enough.

Army presence picked up in the first hour itself. It looked like the whole ride would be only about overtaking trucks.

When I entered Jawahar Tunnel, I was surprised that my claustrophobia did not get the better of me. I guess presence of two army vehicles had something to do with it. Traversing 2547 metres in near pitch darkness is not fun when you cannot see light at the end of the tunnel.

But when I got my first glimpse of the famed valley, it finally sunk in.

And reinforced after a shikara ride on Lake Dal.
