The Edward Hyde Show: 124 : Raceday- Edward vs Edward

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

--Freddie Mercury, These are the days of our lives.

Episode 124 : Raceday- Edward vs Edward

You remember this and this?

Well, guess what happened yesterday?

Afterthought: What happened yesterday will follow after I see some guesses being made here. Let me see who gets closest to the real thing.

You know how much I hate unprintable language. Besides I have given ENOUGH CLUES to give an idea.

    One of the two:

    - Mr Murphy rode off into the sunset, postponing the trip by another (or couple of) month(s).

    Or

    - The trip's happening on schedule but the Mama Hyde came to know and sent Mr Murphy scurrying off the property, chasing him with a broom.

You are making that hyderabad trip during the same time as the race?

    Just two guesses?!

No, the event happened on the weekend. And the Hyderabad trip happened yesterday, but I did not have to go.

So now tell me, what happened?

You didn't say whether Mama Hyde found out about your plot to participate and made you cancel it.

Okay, assuming she didn't find out, lets see what else could've happened..

-Work kept you in Bangalore during the race weekend.

-You could get away from work, but missed your train to Madras.

-You caught the train and reached Madras okay, only to find that the bike was not usable or worse, stolen.

-The bike was fine, but you couldn't reach Sriperumbudur.

-You reached Sriperumbudur, but found out that the venue had been changed.

-The venue was still the same, but you realised too late that you'd forgotten your gear (the ankle-high boots, with elbow and knee guards).

-You reached fine, with all gear at hand, but found your probable soul-mate during the trip. So as you got busy trying to impress her and win her over, you forgot all about the race.

-You remembered the race, but got call from home/work and had to head back immediately, before the event could even start.

-You stayed on, participated and won!, thereby sending the other Edward (of the Murphy family) packing away.

That's 9 more guesses. So tell me which..
