Everyone craves responsibility. The importance that comes with it has a heady feeling.

I always wanted to be acknowledged as a responsible person, a valuable team member. I wanted people to accept that my contribution, at work or off it, is important. I wanted people to look up to me, ask for advice and later tell me how much it helped them. I never thought of being indispensable, but that would have been welcome too...
