The Edward Hyde Show: 290 : La connexion francaise

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

Episode 290 : La connexion francaise

I spent the last two months learning the basics of French.

I got up every weekday at an unheard time of 5am to get to a 7am class. I did not skip a single class and faithfully attended each one of them, even if my brain begged me to skip and sleep.

The class ended today after completing the stipulated 80 hours. I can speak a little, write a little and comprehend a little. The feeling of having achieved something was never any stronger than when I read a product tag written entirely in French and understood every word in it.

And now, I can tick another entry in my bucket list. The one that says "learn a foreign language".

I am one step closer to realising a cherished dream- running a tea shop in a French city.

Till I start the next level, I will miss getting up at 5am every weekday morning.

Afterthought: Thanks go to Mo and Di who patiently answered all my questions in the last two months and put up with my over-enthusiasm.
