The Edward Hyde Show: 300 : Je ne regrette rien

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

Episode 300 : Je ne regrette rien

Non, rien de rien
Non, je ne regrette rien

There were so many things I wanted to do in 2010.

I wanted to plan my travel itinerary for the year, and get better at taking photographs. I wanted to read all the books I had bought in 2009 and the ones I was sure to buy in 2010. I also wanted to take a shot at moving up a level at the workplace and getting a long-overdue salary adjustment.

However, 2010 had its own plans.

Having broken the Fujifilm camera in the fag end of 2009, I went ahead and spent my money on a Nikon digital SLR. The learning process started afresh and I find myself still figuring out how the camera works.

Developments at the workplace ensured I would not go out on motorcycle trips for more than 3 days, and that too once in 3 months or so (what really happened deserves a blog post for itself). While the boys took their motorcycles to the Lahaul-Spiti valley, I took French classes- something I had neglected for almost two decades.

I bought more books than I could read. I now require a large bookshelf for the ones I own, and the ones that I will definitely buy in 2011.

I did not move up the ladder, but the salary correction did happen.

When I look back at 2010, the year did not pan out as I had planned.

But then, I do not regret the way it panned out.

Ni le bien qu'on m'a fait
Ni le mal, tout ça m'est bien égal
