The Edward Hyde Show: 304 : ACK

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

--Freddie Mercury, These are the days of our lives.

Episode 304 : ACK

It played out just like the print ad in Tinkle.

History class in Class 7, in the year 1989.

The teacher was talking about the Mughals. I do not remember how it started, but I remember talking about one of the princes of Jahangir and ended my statements saying 'Khurram succeeded Jahangir as the ruler of India'.

To that one of the students interrupted me saying, 'Eh, Shah Jahan was the next ruler of India'.

I turned, and looking with an air of superiority, announced rather grandly that Jahangir named Khurram as Shah Jahan after he won his battles in the Deccan.

I then turned to look at the teacher, expecting her to validate my statement.

The teacher gaped while the class fell silent. After finding her voice, she asked how I knew all this.

I paused, recalled the Tinkle ad, and simply said 'I read Amar Chitra Katha'.
