Episode 119 : Stealing hearts
Scene: Three guys are having lunch. I am one of them.
I remind Colleague One that his yo-yo tag is still with me despite his statement the previous afternoon that he would "steal" it from me before the end of the day. Actually, the yo-yo tag belongs to him and I had "stolen" it from him two afternoons ago.
'Don't worry da' he said. 'I will take it from you when you least expect it.'
And a pause later, he added 'So softly that it would be like peeling a banana, like stealing the heart of a girl...'
Colleague Two and I burst into laughter.
But his words sparked a thought.
'What is the difference in the way a man's heart and a woman's heart is stolen?' I asked. And without waiting for an answer, I ventured my opinion.
'When a woman's heart is stolen, it is like picking a pocket. When a man's heart is stolen, it is like snatching candy from a baby.'
Well, what do you think?

Strangely, this comes close on heal to statements like:
- if you fall in love, you won't even know it.
- the best part about falling in love, you've no clue that you are in love.
Hearing the above two statements had made me wonder how/whether it was actually possible to be in love and not know it?
Now your statement makes me wonder whether there is actually some truth in this? And are the reactions really gender specific?
Umm..I'll be mulling this one for a while.

Well, you will know you had something in the first place only after you have lost it...

But what the above statements (and part of yours too, regarding womens heart..) say, is that some people don't realise that they've lost their hearts or have fallen in love.
Is it really possible to be in love and not know it?

Yes, it is possible. And you realise when the intended recipient is not responding. :-)
Or shows signs of getting hitched to someone else.
