The Edward Hyde Show: 114 : Of Greeks and gift horses

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

Episode 114 : Of Greeks and gift horses

A home that was made in the previous century. A home as long as I can remember.

I never thought I would find a need to change homes. I was so confident that it would fulfill my requirements that I never looked beyond it.

Alright, I flirted with the idea of making another place a permanent fixture more than once. Or make another place just as important so that I would be prepared in times of emergency.

But my home took care of all that. The other places hardly amounted to anything important.

Till an intruder struck.

An old adage says, 'Beware of Greeks carrying gifts'. I do not remember welcoming any Greek into my home. Unwittingly I let a Trojan horse in.

The security of my home was compromised. I no longer felt safe.

I had to take refuge in another dwelling that had tantalised me in the past. I quickly renovated it so that I could start moving my things.

But there are so many things to move, so many things to do and so many people to inform.

Sigh.

Changing e-mail addresses is such a pain. My old post-box that was powered by Yahoo gave way to a post-box powered by Google.

The old maketh way for the new.

I must get back to shifting mails, addresses and sending mails to different mailing lists informing them of the change. And to friends that my post-box powered by Yahoo will slowly fall into disuse.

Afterthought: House-warming presents are welcome though. The party is in progress. Music is on the house. The rules are BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) and BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze).
