The Edward Hyde Show: 84 : Mehfuz

"Sometimes I get to feelin’, I was back in the old days - long ago
When we were kids when we were young, things seemed so perfect - you know
The days were endless we were crazy we were young,
The sun was always shinin’ - we just lived for fun
Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don’t know,
The rest of my life’s been just a show."

--Freddie Mercury, These are the days of our lives.

Episode 84 : Mehfuz

Tu jo thaane usse kar dikha de haan
Tujhko roke usse tu mita de haan
Aasmaan se zameen tere ho ke rahi, sohneya
Haar na maan na

Come on now, dream again
Keep the faith and live again
Oye chak de
Oye hass de
Jee ke dikha, Jee ke dikha soneya
Haar na maan na

I intend to make the above my mantra. To achieve what's written below.

mehfuz : (adj) to be kept safe, guarded, secure, preserved or memorized.

A state of being mehfuz within me.

Bujh gayi har subah toh kya
Rootha mujhse khuda toh kya
Ho gaye hum juda toh kya

Faasle they hazaaron darmiyan
Waqt ke they hazaaron imtehaan
Fir bhi ban ke nishaan...

Meri aankhon ke chhipe dard mein
Aansoo ki tarah, main mehfuz hoon
Meri honthon ke chhipe lavs mein
Khamoshi ki tarah, main mehfuz hoon

Meri yaadon mein, mehfuz hoon
Meri baaton mein, mehfuz hoon

I am on my way. It is a long journey. But I am hopeful and confident of making it.

It has been 12 years since I last did a purge. Purging of people I no longer need, also realising that they no longer need me too. So why should I hang on to some distant memory, a minimal yet unfulfilled expectation or promise?

So out you go!
