Episode 116 : The one where Mr. Murphy comes visiting... again!

It was the third week of September. After a short discussion on what should be done, I began planning.

For race-day at the track near Sriperumbudur 5 weeks later. And I planned to be in Madras for the Diwali-Ramzan weekend. Riding down the same road twice didn't appeal to me. So... I rode down to Madras and returned to Bangalore by train.

And planned to travel by train to Madras three days later, take the bike and participate in the event that Saturday. Meanwhile, I started getting things ready.

Ankle-high boots to meet the minimum outfit regulations for any race, with elbow and knee guards for good measure. You can never be too careful.

Of course, I also told a few people that I intended to ride on the track. The "few people" did not include Mama and Papa Hyde. I did inform them about the race, but not that I intended to ride too. The aftermath can wait; let's cross the bridge when we get to it, I thought.

Rain began to pour in Madras in the Diwali-Ramzan weekend. I began to worry that my folks may not let me go to the track because "I was only going to watch it". Little did I know that my friend Murphy had something up his sleeve.

As if Hyderabad wasn't enough!

The event got postponed to the first week of December. Blessing or curse, I know not.
